Understanding the PUR Flat Lamination Process

Using polyurethane reactive (PUR) hot-melt adhesives is critical for applying decorative PETG or GAG film to MDF, particleboard, or mineral substrates. PUR forms cross-linking chemical bonds with the film backer and the wood board, creating an exceptionally strong, moisture-resistant adhesion.

Surface Energy & Dyne Levels: To prevent delamination, our PETG/GAG films undergo inline corona treatment. This process increases the surface energy above 38 mN/m (Dyne), ensuring optimal wetting and mechanical anchoring of the PUR adhesive.

What is the difference between PETG and GAG films?
PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) is a modified, amorphous polyester that is highly ductile, chemical-resistant, and flame-retardant. GAG is a three-layer co-extruded composite film consisting of a central APET (Amorphous PET) core sandwiched between two outer layers of PETG.
