A Trusted Top 10 Leader in Functional PET & PETG Film Innovation
Established in 2017, Ganzhou Zhongyou Film Material Co., Ltd. builds on more than 20 years of chemical engineering and coating mastery. We specialize in functional polymeric coatings, multi-layer extrusion, and precision UV-hardening. Our core research focus is the production of ultra-matte, high-durability skin-feel films (also known as soft-touch films) engineered to protect and elevate premium furniture, wall boards, and architectural interiors.
Through our dedicated 8+ year specialization in modern PET/PETG processing, we have designed an integrated manufacturing lifecycle spanning co-extrusion, inline precision coating, multi-layer thermal lamination, and automated micro-slitting. This end-to-end control guarantees that our clients receive films of unmatched thermal stability, consistent surface tension, and outstanding chemical resistance.
Analyzing the global transition towards eco-friendly, ultra-durable matte finishes in interior design and cabinetry.
The global furniture and laminate industry is undergoing a structural transition. Environmental mandates in Europe (REACH, VOC restrictions) and North America (CARB Phase 2) are pushing brands away from traditional chlorinated polymers like PVC toward highly recyclable polyester alternatives like PET and PETG.
PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol-modified) stands out due to its superior impact strength, optical clarity, and lack of off-gassing during processing or end-use, making it the material of choice for sustainable, premium residential cabinetry.
Modern luxury interiors have embraced matte surfaces. High-gloss finishes are increasingly reserved for specific accents, while large vertical and horizontal surfaces—kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, walk-in closets, and wall paneling—utilize ultra-matte skin-feel coatings.
Industrial demand is driven by the desire for zero-reflection surfaces (gloss levels under 3 GU at 60°) that remain visually clean, rejecting finger grease, food oils, and superficial micro-scratches.
Global furniture brands rely heavily on responsive OEM/ODM manufacturing partnerships. Because of volatile lead times and changing consumer preferences, modern exporters must offer rapid color matching (Delta E < 0.5), custom masterbatch formulations, and rolls calibrated specifically for automated lamination lines.
Zhongyou plays a key role here, offering direct factory exports that bypass intermediary brokers, ensuring consistent quality and stable supply for global volume buyers.
A deep dive into polymer chemistry, curing mechanics, and surface physics that define our premium soft-touch films.
Our skin-feel films achieve their ultra-matte finish through excimer curing. Using short-wavelength (172nm) UV light in an oxygen-free nitrogen atmosphere, the top layer of polyurethane acrylate (PUA) resin is cured instantly. This rapid shrinkage creates a microscopic folded structure, scattering reflected light to achieve a gloss level below 3 GU while retaining a smooth, velvety texture.
To ensure robust anti-fingerprint properties, our films integrate specialized fluorocarbon or silicone-modified acrylic monomers into the polymer chain. These agents reduce surface energy below 22 mN/m. As a result, skin oils, water droplets, and household chemicals cannot wet the surface, preventing fingerprint adhesion and allowing easy cleaning.
Our soft-touch coatings feature shape-memory polymers with high crosslink density. When light micro-scratches deform the surface, the underlying covalent network remains intact. Applying mild heat (e.g., warm air or a damp cloth and warm iron) triggers the polymer chain to relax, restoring the original matte micro-topography within seconds.
We utilize co-extrusion technology to bond functional skin-feel layers directly to tough PETG or structural GAG base films. This dry-lamination and direct extrusion process eliminates internal delamination risks, creating a single, integrated material with high dimensional stability under varying temperatures.
Extended exposure to sunlight and artificial light can break down standard polymer surfaces. Our films incorporate Benzotriazole-class UV absorbers (UVA) and Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS) within the polymer core. This chemical barrier filters harmful UV radiation, preventing yellowing and maintaining color consistency for over a decade of indoor use.
Our raw PET and PETG materials contain no heavy metals, plasticizers, or halogenated compounds. When laminated to wood panels, they release zero formaldehyde or toxic VOCs. Additionally, because PETG shares the same recycling stream as polyester bottles, production off-cuts are fully recyclable, helping furniture manufacturers meet strict environmental certifications.
From high-humidity kitchens to high-traffic retail spaces, our films provide durable, reliable protection and styling.
Our skin-feel films are engineered for high-performance use across residential and commercial settings:

PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) features a glycol modification that prevents the polymer from crystallizing, making it more impact-resistant, flexible, and chemically stable than standard PET. During lamination and profiling, PETG offers superior crack resistance and handles deep-drawn wrapping and sharp edges without stress-whitening.
We highly recommend using PUR (Polyurethane Reactive) hot melt adhesives with high-capacity flat lamination lines. PUR adhesives provide exceptional moisture and heat resistance, maintaining a strong bond with no orange peel effect. Apply the glue at a range of 80 to 120 g/m² depending on substrate porosity, at roller temperatures between 130°C and 150°C.
Our excimer-cured topcoat utilizes a highly crosslinked, flexible polyurethane molecular structure. When a light scratch deforms the surface without tearing the polymer chains, applying heat (around 60°C to 80°C) triggers the polymer's shape-memory characteristics. This heat relaxes the deformed network, returning the micro-grooves to their original flat state.
Stored in their original packaging in a cool, dry climate (temperature 15°C - 25°C, relative humidity 40% - 60%) out of direct sunlight, our films maintain their surface dyne levels and physical properties for up to 18 months. We recommend using them within 12 months for optimal bonding performance.
